Obituary of Oscar Schwab

Oscar Schwab of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Agape Hospice on June 5, 2009, at the age of 83 years. Oscar was born in Neu-Sarata, Romania, and came to Canada in 1950. He worked at the CPR as a Yard Foreman for twenty-eight years and retired in 1990. Since retiring, Oscar and his wife Vivian enjoyed traveling until he was diagnosed with COPD and placed on oxygen in 2003. His family was his pride and joy. His greatest enjoyment was his grandchildren and involvement in their activities. He loved watching sports, especially the Edmonton Oilers. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Vivian; daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Ron (Autumn and Marc); sons Del (Michael, Kellen and Sean) and Ron (Aaron and Matthew); son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Judy (Jordan and Ashley); and daughters-in-law, Brenda (Craig and Trevor) and Diane (Ryan and Kyle). He is also survived by a brother, Gus (Ella); sister Hilda (Emanuel); and sisters-in-law, Helga and Gisela; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers-in law, Len, Mel (Janet) and Gene (Rosemary); sisters-in-law, Dorrie (Ernie), Marje (David), Marion, June and Dot; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Lynne in 1992.
