Obituary of Matthew Leonard Britton

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our son Matt on Friday, May 29, 2009, at the age of 26 years. Matthew was born and raised in Calgary, graduating with a Commerce degree from the U of C. He had a gentle spirit, full of care for others and the well being of those he loved. We take comfort in the many happy memories we shared with him, and though our hearts are aching, we are finding peace in our un-ending love for him and for each other. Matthew is survived and will be dearly missed by his mom and dad, Libby and Chris Britton; sisters Virginia (Shane) Mackay and Mary; brother Robert; grandparents Ron Sedlack, Linda and Bill Britton; aunts and uncles Robert (Bel) Sedlack, Angela (Bob) Christianson, Dan (Jodi) Britton, Jane (Paul) Beauchemin, Claudette (Peter) Harbachuk; nieces Estelle and Juliana; cousins Emily, Jocelyn, Eve, Luke, Vincent, Anna, Sebastian, Dominic, Benjamin, Ava Marie, Savina, Corbin, Blaise, Nate, Bryce, Jacob, Rebecka, Rachel and Jack; as well as many extended family and friends. Matthew, we will miss you so much, but in loving and honouring you, we let you go… into the hands of our gracious God. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Osborne officiating.
