Obituary of Raymond Keith Audette

Raymond (Ray) Audette, beloved husband of Pam Audette and devoted father of Jennie, Kristy and Billy, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 after a twenty-six year battle with multiple sclerosis at the age of 48 years. Ray was born on September 11, 1960 in Ottawa, ON. He spent his childhood growing up on Canadian Armed forces bases. He lived in Ottawa, ON, Cold Lake, AB, Montreal, QC, Mons Belgium, St. Bruno, QC, and finally, Airdrie, AB. He joined the ranks of Canadian Pacific Railway on August 20, 1980. In 1996, when the company moved head office from Montreal to Calgary, Ray jumped at the chance to move his family west. He retired from CPR on March 22, 2002. He retained many of friendships developed throughout his career. Ray was a gifted athlete and would join in any game or sport at any time and in any capacity. He was player, coach and referee. His true passion however, was Hockey. Number 4 was a triple “A” player in his youth and a team player until the very end. His team was the Montreal Canadians. Besides his loving wife of nearly twenty-eight years and children, Ray is survived by his mother Patricia Audette of Creston, BC; sisters, Debbie Brim (husband Jim) of Spartanburg, SC, Dianne Audette of Creston, BC; and brother Gary Audette of Ottawa ON. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his father Chief Warrant Officer Robert Audette. A Celebration of Ray’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Center Street North) on Friday, June 5th, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
