Obituary of Rudolph Adam Gettle

It is with great sadness that the family of Rudy Gettle announces his sudden passing on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 at the age of 71 in Calgary. Rudy was born in Regina on September 9, 1937. He enjoyed spending the majority of his time with his family and friends. His hobbies included fishing, and golfing. Rudy enjoyed salmon fishing on the coast, and vacationing in Mesquite. He retired from SaskPower after more than twenty-five years of service. Rudy spent his entire life in Regina until he moved to Calgary in 2001 where he enjoyed retirement with his loving wife Aurelia. Rudy is survived by his wife Aurelia; sons, Gary (Sherrie), Garth (Tracey), and Gregory (Heather); daughters, Glenda Popa and Gayleen (Shaun) Semple; grandchildren, Shawn and Chad Gettle, Chase Whiteside, Theron and Alex White, Sophie and Eli Gettle, Rachel and Daniel Popa, Christopher, Andrew and Matthew Semple. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward, John, Ernest (Bernice), Alfred (Leona), and William; sisters, Eva (Harold) Nanskiville and Lorraine (Helfried) Zeck; brother-in-law David (Candice) Rithaler; sister-in-law Donna (Dwayne) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews Rudy was predeceased by his parents Carl and Theresa Gettle; sister Helen Nanskiville; sister-in-law Margaret Gettle; mother and father-in-law Pete and Helen Rithaler . At Rudy’s request no formal funeral service will be held, however, a celebration of Rudy’s life will be held at a later date. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
