Our kaere husband, Far, Farfar and ven passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Poul was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on January 4, 1925 and married Agnes on August 5, 1950. He trained as a steam engineer and worked in the Danish merchant marine before immigrating to Canada in January of 1957. He worked for a number of different companies including Dominion Bridge, Cominco, Mon-Max (MHG), Delta Engineering, culminating in a position of technical advisor for Maersk Oil in Esbjerg, Denmark. In 1982, he joined the Masons and served as Worshipful Master for 1998 and 1999 for Ashlar Lodge #28. He was also a member of the Eastern Star Chinook Chapter #133. Whatever Poul did, he did well and he lived by the motto “Everything is possible”. He loved woodworking, wine making, stamp collecting and was a keen card player. He also loved fishing and his boat, and to that end he built a cabin on the Shuswap Lakes for his retirement. However his favourite thing of all was socializing and having a beer.
