Obituary of John Porco

John, beloved husband of Maria, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2009. John was born in Aprigliano, Italy on February 24, 1941. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maria, his son, Peter (Angela), his grandson, Gio; his brothers, Tony (Lynn) and Tilio (Shelley); his sisters, Maria (Walter) and Alba (Bob). John was an avid outdoorsman, gardener, a great storyteller, and well-respected in the Judo community. Prayers to be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Friday May 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta.
