Obituary of Magdolna Traj
Sadly and with much love we announce the sudden passing of Magdi Traj of Calgary, with her family at her side, on Monday, May 18, 2009 at the age of 81 years.
Magdi was born in Chernalhaza-Domonya, Hungary and immigrated with her husband to Canada in 1957, settling in Nelson, BC. She worked at Mount St. Francis Hospital until her retirement and moved to Calgary in 1992 to be closer to family. Magdi enjoyed gardening, was a fabulous cook, and loved her dog Meeshee who recently passed away. She was an active member of the St. Elizabeth of Hungary Seniors’ club.
Magdi is survived by her daughter Kathy Askevold and her beloved grandchildren, Erik, Stefan and Monika, all of Calgary. She is also survived by three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews all of Hungary. Magdi was predeceased by her husband John Traj on October 4, 1995. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
