Obituary of Alice Margaret Scott

Alice Scott passed away on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the age of 87 years after a lengthy illness. Alice was born on the family homestead south of Radisson, SK on November 7, 1921 to Catherine and John Magwood. She married Almon Douglas Scott, also of Radisson, on July 7, 1945. Alice and Almon spent most of their married life in Edmonton, AB. although soon after Almon’s death in 1982, Alice moved to Red Deer, AB where she resided until moving to Calgary three years ago. Alice was a Christian lady with a strong sense of responsibility and love. Her lifetime was spent in the service of her family and her church. Alice is survived by her three daughters and their families, Lorren Cowan of Leduc, AB, and her children, Kate and Gordon Cowan, Sheila and Allen Vanderputten, and their children, Tyler and Marilyn Vanderputten, Sarah and Darren Power, all of Calgary, AB, Bethany Vanderputten and her fiancé Frederic Kabore of San Francisco, CA, Theora and Tracy Meyers, and their family, Nathan Meyers, Victoria Meyers, and Laura, Greg, and Benjamin Palaschuk, all of Calgary, AB. A Celebration of Alice’s Life will be held at St. James Anglican Church (6351 Ranchview Drive N.W.) on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
