Obituary of Germaine Mary Palardy

Germaine Mary Palardy of Calgary passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Germaine Palardy (Giroux) was born on July 7, 1913 in Cheadle, Alberta. By the age of four she moved to Strathmore. She met George Palardy at the skating rink in 1930 and in November 1932 they married. In April 1948 they moved to Calgary. George her husband and lover for over 56 years predeceased her in 1989. Germaine lived out her final years in the Sarcee CareWest Nursing Home in Calgary. She is survived by a sister Irene Giffen of Calgary and children George (Vivian) of Calgary, Raymond (Jeannine) of Olds, Richard (Mavis) of Calgary, John (Joan) of Olds and Diana (Roy) Wedemire. She had twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Wednesday May 13, 2009 at 11:00 am.
