Obituary of Verna E. Lane

Verna, beloved mother of Eileen, passed away on May 7, 2009 at the Agapé Hospice in Calgary. Born in Swift Current, SK in 1911, she received her education in Swift Current and Medicine Hat, coming to Calgary in 1928. Verna retired from Telus in 1976. Her passions were genealogy, family history, and political science. Her family was her treasured possession. Verna is survived by her daughter Eileen; grand children, Jill (Jean-Paul) Aquilina, Peter Merkley, Cameron (Judy) Merkley; great grandchildren, Melissa (Adam) Cotterill, Alex Aquilina, Suzanne Aquilina; great-great grandson Ian Cotterill. Verna’s pain was valiantly endured. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Private Graveside Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
