Obituary of Vande Zande

Lawrence E. Vande Zande, beloved husband of Helene of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 77 years. Lawrence was a well-known business owner in Calgary. He was involved with the automotive service industry for over thirty years. The summers spent fishing at his cottage in Sylvan Lake were a source of real pleasure, and he took great pride in teaching his grandchildren to fish as well. Lawrence was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was especially proud of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. Besides his loving wife of fifty-five years, Helene, Lawrence is also survived by his son Larry; daughter Lynn Stephenson; grandchildren; Michael, Kevin, and Laura Vande Zande, and Daniel, Jordan, and Nathan Stephenson; sister Beverly and her husband Ed Wendorf; and by his brother Darrell and wife Cathy Vande Zande. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
