Obituary of Peter Paul Dimnik

Peter Dimnik, beloved husband of Marie Dimnik of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the age of 76 years. Peter was born in Obrije, Slovenia and immigrated to Canada (Raymond, Alberta) with his siblings, nephew and niece in 1949. He met Marie in 1952 and they were married in Lethbridge (1957). After the birth of Judy and Gerald, the family moved to Calgary where Peter’s third child Caroline, was born in 1967. Peter was a loving husband, father, uncle and friend with a playful sense of humour, a zeal for life and implacable determination and perseverance, even in his final days. He cherished his adopted country and his homeland, Slovenia. He will be sorely missed and remembered by all. Besides his loving wife Marie, Peter is survived by his children, Judy and Brian Bischoff, Gerald Dimnik, Caroline and Marc Vionnet; four grandchildren Maddie, Quinn, Dahlia and Jade; two sisters, Sr. Branka Dimnik, Marie (Mici) and John Fekete; brother Steve and Ann Dimnik and beloved nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Argentina and Slovenia. Peter was predeceased by four brothers Martin, John, Tony and Joe; two sisters Pepca and Cilka.
