Obituary of Marcel Donald Gendron

Marcel Donald Gendron of Calgary passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the age of 50 years. Marcel was born on June 11, 1958 in Halifax, NS. He worked as a taxi driver beginning in Sackville, before moving on to the Yellow Cab in Halifax, and finally with Casino Taxi. During his career as a taxi driver, he worked with Hilchies Septic Services for twelve years. Marcel was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for fifteen years, holding positions of Sports Officer and Building Security during that time. He also enjoyed playing darts and cards, fishing, and crokinole nights with the boys. Marcel could fix anything anyone asked him to. Marcel will be sadly missed by his loving wife June; sister Ingrid (Lloyd) of Sackville; brothers Vince (Paulette) of Bridgewater, Robert (Ann) of Beaverbank and Shawn of Sackville; nieces Lisa (John) of Saint John, Denice of Calgary, and Kirby (Robi) of Bridgewater; great-niece Ceileigh of Saint John; uncle Donald of Pictou; and aunt Lorraine of Edmonton. Father and mother-in-law; Ed and Doreen Martin of Kitimat, brothers-in-law, Tim(Trisha) and Kevin as well as numerous friends in Halifax and Calgary. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 7:00 p.m and in Halifax at a later date.
