Obituary of William Kevol
Bill Kevol of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the age of 88 years.
Bill was born to Paul and Pauline Kevol of Ormiston, SK. on September 14, 1920. He served with the Army during WWII from 1942 to 1946 in the Royal Canadian Engineers. After the war he moved to Victoria, B.C. and started his apprenticeship as a carpenter, where he worked for seventeen years. In 1947 he married Caroline Fiege of Markinch, SK. and they had three beautiful children. The family moved to Calgary in 1964, where he worked for the City of Calgary for sixteen years, until his retirement, in the Parks Department as a cabinet maker, building picnic tables and renovating the Deane House. Dad enjoyed bowling and became very good at it, winning many trophies. Fishing also became a pastime which he developed a great passion for. Bill and Carol enjoyed square dancing together; and he spent many hours being an enthusiastic fan at his grandchildren’s softball and hockey games.
Bill is survived by his daughter Karen Won; son Garry; daughter-in-law Sherron; and grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Billy Brian, and Beth; sisters, Dot and Nettie. Bill was predeceased by wife Carol in 2008; daughter Marilyn in 1984; his parents; sisters, Ann and Mary; brother Stan; and son-in-law Bob Won.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
