Obituary of William Leslie Les Lyons

Les Lyons beloved husband of Joyce Lyons of Calgary, passed away on April 27, 2009 at the age of 90 years. Les was born and raised in Manitoba and received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba after bravely serving his country in World War II as an Air Force Officer. His varied work career took him from insurance to the auto industry and finally to his own wine and spirits company, which he operated successfully until his retirement. After twenty years in Markham, ON, Les and his wife moved to Calgary, where they enjoyed their retirement years. His intellect, sense of humour, and inquisitive mind will be missed by all that knew him. Besides his loving wife Joyce of sixty years, Les is also survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ken of Summerland. B.C. and Pat and Simon of Warkworth, New Zealand; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jean of Stouffville, ON; and by grandsons, John and Justin with whom, he had a special bond that only grandpas and grandsons can share.
