Obituary of Frederick Edward Fochuk

Frederick (Fred) Edward Fochuk, beloved husband of Margaret of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the age of 83 years. He was born November 10, 1925 in Calgary. Fred attended Riverside, Langevin and Western Canada schools. Besides Calgary, he also served at various RCAF stations across Canada during WWII, and attained the Rank of Leading Air Craftsman during 1943 and 1945. On September 3, 1965, Fred and Margaret were married. He was a pricer and worked with Electrical, Contracting and Machinery in Calgary. Fred loved vacationing in the British Isles and Phoenix, Arizona. He was always an ardent airplane buff and a skilled model builder, and loved to visit the Radio Controlled Fly-ins in Las Vegas. Besides his loving wife Margaret of forty-four years, Fred is also survived by his family, brother and sister-in-law, William and Mary; brothers-in-law, Angus Miller and his wife Wendy, and Bruce Miller and his wife Elizabeth, of Edinburgh, Scotland; numerous nieces and nephews and long time friend Roy Shelley. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Annie Fochuk; and sisters, Helen, Pearl and Eileen. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in the Field of Honour Section at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
