Obituary of Dale Baker

Dale Baker, beloved husband of Joyce Baker of Black Diamond, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 23, 2009, surrounded by his family, at the age of 74 years. Dale was born in Swift Current, SK and lived on the family homestead near Pennant, SK until 1941 when the family moved to Medicine Hat, AB. His career in sales took him to numerous locations, but he and Joyce spent most of those years in Calgary before moving to Black Diamond in 2006. They spent many happy retirement winters in Phoenix, AZ and enjoyed many years of golf at Priddis Greens. Dale is lovingly remembered by his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty-four years Joyce; his three cherished children, Brenda (Gerry) Johnson, Karen (Colin) Nemeth and Scott (Terrie) Baker; and his sister Grace (Don) Baillie. He was a beloved grandpa to eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Colin and Helene; sister Virginia; and niece Carol. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Medicine Hat at a later date.
