Obituary of Kevin George Lawson

It is with our deepest sorrow that we must announce the passing of our dearest Kevin George Lawson at the age of 50 years. Kevin was born in Edmonton, AB and moved with his parents to Calgary at the age of two. He attended Glenbrook Elementary, Shawnessy Junior High, and finally Ernest Manning Senior High School where he started to develop his life long passion for mechanics. After finishing school, Kevin started his career rebuilding small engines and then moved on to work with Jim Patterson Lease. From there, he was hired by the City of Calgary where he worked in various shops over the years. At the age of forty, Kevin returned to SAIT to further his education where he obtained his Heavy Duty Mechanics ticket. His diligent efforts and many long hours of studying in his garage secured him the highest standing in his class. He then continued on with the City of Calgary where he remained until his passing. Kevin was a kind and loving man who always treated people the way he wanted to be treated in return. He was a man with a strong work ethic and was extremely generous with his time and knowledge. Kevin was a notably friendly and kind hearted person who provided for his family abundantly throughout the years. He was extremely loyal to those around him and was always willing to provide a helping hand. Kevin was a loving son, father, and brother who is survived by his mother Maryann; father Leonard (Wendy); sisters, Cieanne and Karie (Romeo); nephew Adam; nieces Amanda and Alecia; step-brothers, Gary and Matthew; and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends throughout Calgary, Edmonton and the Tofield area. Kevin was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Alexandria and John Wladyka; paternal grandparents, Grace and Hermann Lawson; as well as by several dear aunts and uncles.
