Obituary of Mary Cicely Robinson

Our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2009. She had just celebrated her 91st birthday. Mary is survived by four children, Judy (Ed) Petrie, David (Julia), Christopher (Dianne), and Jeff (Cindy); ten grandchildren, Cameron Petrie, Penny (Duane) DeJager, Karie (Robert) Cumming, Michael and Angela Robinson, Victoria Robinson, Alexander, Sam and Ty Robinson (and their mother Susan Low), and Sophie Robinson; five great grandchildren, Bailey, Cole and Jaxon DeJager, Sophia and Olivia Cumming; and many close nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband of sixty-two years, “Red” or “Robbie” Pettet Robinson. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy Jackson, Jack, Ted, Joe, and Alvin Gammon. Mary was born in Airdrie, AB then moved to Calgary, residing in the Ogden and Inglewood neighbourhoods, for the rest of her schooling. She attended business college and met “Red” in the late 30s. She worked in the accounting office at the Bay until “Red” joined the Canadian Army. They were married in 1940. Mary was known for her constant smile and her deep love for her family. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at Wild Rose United Church (1317 – 1 Street N.W.) on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
