Obituary of Gloria Joyce

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gloria Fay Joyce of Calgary, Alberta. Gloria passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the age of 67 years. Gloria is survived by her husband and best friend of twenty-five years Samir Hanna; Sam’s daughter Marie-France Hanna (Peter); granddaughter Sierra McCarthy of Montreal; sister Cheryl Danners (Bob) of Calgary; and her beloved Ridgeback Honey. She was predeceased by her mother Fay Danby in 1999 and her step-father Art Danby in 1991. Gloria came to Calgary from the Okanagan Valley in 1959 to attend Mount Royal College. She worked as a secretary for many years and soon found her niche in the legal profession where she worked as a Legal Secretary for over twenty years. Finishing up her career, she assisted Sam in several business ventures. At the time of her passing, Gloria was retired and spent her days taking care of her home, keeping in touch with friends and family through e-mail and conversations on the phone, and pursuing many hobbies. Her most impressive work was done in cross-stitch. Sam will always cherish the many RV vacations he and Gloria shared with their loving companion, Honey.
