Obituary of Albert Pelle

Albert Pelle passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009, just before his 80th birthday. Albert was born on April 29, 1929, in Eibergen, Netherlands. Albert married Alie van der Las on June 12, 1954, and moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, shortly thereafter to start a family and new life. They moved to Raymond, AB in 1962 and to Calgary in 1965, where Albert began a teaching career in the Heavy Duty Diesel Department at SAIT. As a natural teacher, he was highly respected by his colleagues and students, and in retirement pursued further teaching opportunities with his kids’ various mechanical challenges. Albert greatly enjoyed hiking, camping, and being in the mountains with his family and especially time spent with his granddaughter. Albert is survived by his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Alita Pelle, Michel Perron and Maxime of Calgary; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Diane Pelle of Mission, BC; son Martin of Toronto, ON; and extended family in the Netherlands. Albert’s final weeks were spent in the tender care of the extraordinary staff at the Foothills Country Hospice.
