Obituary of Lydia Joan Shaddock
Joan Shaddock, beloved wife of Norman Shaddock of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the age of 89 years.
Joan was born on June 9, 1919 in Hammersmith, England. In 1940, she married Norman Shaddock. As a war bride, Joan immigrated to Canada in 1943, with her daughter Margaret. In 1945, the family moved to Calgary, where daughter Valerie and son Ron were born. Joan had many passions in life, she was an avid bridge player and supporter of all of Calgary’s sports teams.
Joan is survived by her loving husband Norman; daughters, Margaret (Bradley) Block, Valerie (Ron) Bons and son Ron (Peggy) Shaddock; grandchildren, Bill and Trevor Block, Scott, Michael and Jamie Shaddock, and Ronald and Sean Bons. She is also survived by sister Winnifred Stewart; nieces, Jill Stewart and Barbara Worthy; and nephews, Anthony Stewart and JohnWorthy.
A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00a.m. A Private family Graveside Service will take place at a later date. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
