Obituary
Obituary of James Loyd Hole
With heavy hearts, we announce that on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 Jim Hole passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, at the age of 90 years.
Jim was born on July 15, 1918, at the family homestead east of Airdrie, Alberta and was the son of two pioneer families. Jim farmed and ranched east and west of the Airdrie area all his life, and was best known as a prominent breeder of purebred Hereford cattle. Although he retired and sold most of his famous herd in 1982, until he died he kept a keen interest in all areas of ranching and farming, especially in the young people and their 4-H projects.
Jim is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife JoAnn Jones; his stepchildren, Catherine (Tim) Chalack, Cheryl (Rod) Morison, Brad Jones, and Nicole Allarie; grandchildren, Terra, Riley and Kylina Chalack, Harley and Carter Morison and Sophie Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Newton and Eileen Henricks, Jim and Evelyn Selzler, Scott and Barbara Nixdorff, and Nielle and Howard Hawkwood and all of their families. Jim was predeceased by his parents Cicily Louisa (Jones) and John Arthur Hole; as well as his brother George and sister Alice.
Funeral Services will be held at the Town & Country Centre (275 Jensen Drive N.E., Airdrie, Alberta) on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation, Box 459, Cochrane, Alberta, T4C 1A7
Our thanks go out to all the friends, relatives and neighbors who came to visit Jim and very much brightened his last few weeks. We also thank Dr. Lundgren, Dr. Ho and the nurses at Airdrie Home Care for making it possible for Jim to spend his last days at home.
