Obituary of Dora Anne Ridgway

Miss Dora Anne Ridgway of Calgary passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the age of 93 years. Dora was the second-born in a family of five siblings and lived her whole life in Calgary – lastly at Wentworth Manor, where she made many friends with staff and residents alike. A proud and long-time employee of Eaton’s Canada, Dora retired after 35 years. She was an active member of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church and is the last of the original congregation to pass away. Dora is survived by her sisters-in-law Jessie (Maurice) Ridgway of Lethbridge, AB., Jackie (Jim) Ridgway of Edmonton, AB.; and brother-in-law Frank (Betty) Thompson of Stittsville, ON. Also left to mourn are her nephews Craig (Karen) Ridgway, Spencer (Brigitte) Ridgway, Norman (Jonell) Ridgway, Robert (Karen) Thompson, and James Thompson (Louise); nieces Patricia (Larry) Rhude and Denise (Udo) Fitz; as well as many great and great-great nephews and nieces. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Alfred & Gertrude Ridgway; brothers James (Jim) and Maurice Ridgway; as well as sisters, Gertrude (Trudie) Bodman and Verness (Vern) Thompson.
