Obituary of Stanley Albert Wilson

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Stanley Albert, affectionately known as “Mr. Wonderful”. Stan is survived by his high school sweetheart Esme, cherished wife of forty four years. Very proud dedicated Dad to daughter Christine; and son John. His volunteer spirit, love of family and sense of humour will be missed by sister-in-law, Barbara, and brother-in-law, Peter and his wife, Marlene and their families, also a host of supportive, caring cousins and friends. As an only child, Stan longed for a sibling. Forty years ago, his dream came true. He has valued and treasured the loyalty of his spirit brother and sister, Leonard and Marilyn. Predeceased by parents Lavinia and Ernest Wilson. Diagnosed recently with cancer, Stan embraced the short journey ahead. Palliative/Hospice Care Teams at Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Rosedale Hospice guided our family through the sudden storm into the sunshine with grace and dignity, for which our family is eternally grateful. Stanely A. was a well respected Joint Venture/ Forensic Auditor in the oil and gas sector for over forty years and was known as a straight shooter, where a firm handshake alone brought integrity and respect. Retirement never entered his mind, however, Stan and Esme did embrace the Snowbird lifestyle and hosted many at their Arizona winter retreat. Come spring, Stan would dust off the desk and settle down to the business at hand. Thank you “Mr. Wonderful” for your butterfly kisses and leaving each of us a legacy rich in memories. Honouring Stan’s wishes, no formal service will be held. A Celebration of Stan’s life will be held at North Haven Community Association (5003 North Haven Drive N.W.) on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, donations to Rosedale Hospice, 920 – 7A Street N.W., Calgary, AB, T2M 3J3, would be appreciated.
