Obituary of Weasel Child

Stanley Adolphus Weasel Child has completed his journey here and was called home to the Creator on Sunday, March 29, 2009. Stan was born and raised here at Siksika; he was a loving father, brother and uncle and we will all miss his big “bear hugs.” Stan enjoyed Pow Wows and participated as a Chicken Dancer in his youth. He loved nothing more than being around family and friends and living life to the fullest. His favourite song was “Family Tradition” and his favourite line was “I am very proud of my Daddy’s name.” He started his own “family tradition” where he fed visiting Elders and Drum Groups at the Siksika Fair. He loved the outdoors and had worked at Castle Mountain and enjoyed ice fishing and hunting with his buddies. He had many friends and welcomed all into his home. Stan is survived by his daughter Barbara (Kelly); sons, Martin (Leah), Richie, Jayden, and Sammy; grandchildren, Odessa, Ahneasha, Aleah, Antoine, Ashlynn, Aidan, Addison, and Ayonte; mother Alice; sisters, Rose, Elnora, Donna, Verna (Harley), Steph, Joyce, Joanne, Lena (Arnold), Theresa and Ruth (Francis); brothers, Joe (Sharon) and Eldon (Alvina) Weasel Child and Bruce (Ann Marie) Wolf Child; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend Danita Water Chief; aunts and uncles, Nora Ayoungman, Aileen Gladstone, Doris Yellowfly, Roy Ayoungman, Marie Ayoungman, Rena Sinclair, Ruby Doore, Audrey McMaster, Roy, Adrian (Leslie), Justine, Yvonne and Liz Stimson, Eve Yellow Old Woman, Fred (Beatrice), Gerald (Jenny), Johnson, Marlene and Mabel Powder Face.
