Obituary of H. Frank Tibble

Frank Tibble passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the age of 87, just two days after his sixty-third wedding anniversary. Frank was born in Moose Jaw SK on October 7, 1921 to Grace and Herbert Tibble. He was a proud veteran of WWII who served as an RAF Bomber Pilot – Squadron 172 out of Devon, England and later, off Gibraltar. His dedication to the cause of the air force continued throughout his life and he was always ready with a war story to anyone who would listen. He was an active member of the Air Crew Association, and wrote their news letter for five years which has become legendary. Frank met and married Mary Mison in Edmonton and they raised their family in Calgary. He is survived by his loving wife Mary; sons, David Tibble (Alison) and Terry Tibble; and daughter Barbara Lamoureux. He treasured his grandchildren, Erin, Corey (Kim), Heather (John), Kent (Jacqueline) and Brett (Crystal); and his precious great-granddaughters, Macie, Kyra and Mary. He was predeceased by his parents and only brother Ken. Frank will be remembered for his ever present wit and keen mind full of amazing stories that kept many entertained over the years. The family is grateful for the wonderful care he received at the Beverly Centre where his last year was spent happily with new friends. A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date.
