Obituary of Sandra Eileen Galloway

Sandra (Sandy) Galloway beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 65 years. Sandy was born in Calgary on October 3, 1943, and moved to Winnipeg, MN at the age of three. She spent her formative years in Winnipeg, but returned to Calgary in her late twenties where she has resided until her passing. Sandy had a long career in administration and support services with the RCMP “K” Division in Calgary. She met and worked with people from coast to coast, forming lasting friendships with many over the span of her career. Sandy’s passions in life were reading, sewing, needlework, and baking (“Life is short, eat dessert first”), but most of all she loved spending time with family and friends, especially if it involved food. Sandy is survived by her loving parents, Rae and Ron Galloway; sisters, Kathy Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson (Ian); nieces, Stacey Johnson, Robynn Munnings (Tad); nephew Michael Johnson; great-nephews, Jakson and Jonah; great-nieces, Ella, Maley, and Bea; uncle Alex Smith (Marge); as well as by numerous cousins and many friends whose lives she touched deeply. Sandy was predeceased by her beloved niece Karyn Johnson in 1996. A Celebration of Life will he held at at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
