Obituary of Roberta Janice Smith

Roberta Janice Smith of Cochrane passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the age of 59 years. Roberta was born, raised and did her schooling in Calgary, graduating from Mount Royal College with a BSW. For the next 30-years she worked as a Social worker and Probation officer in Calgary and Canmore. Roberta loved the mountains where she could cross country ski and hike. Roberta’s passions were reading, gaining knowledge and her pet rabbits. Roberta semi-retired and moved to Cochrane in 2006. She then pursued her love for travel with Portugal being a favourite destination. Roberta was a warm and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunty, and friend. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Roberta is survived by her loving daughter, Shauna and son-in-law Russ; parents, Stella and Poppa McIntyre; sisters, Holly (Emile) Cochand; Anne (Don) Cavanagh and Karen McIntrye. Brothers Randy and John. Her adored niece Leah and nephew Chance Cochand, Michelle and son Andrew Carleton. Also missing her are her four legged friends, Rodeo, Wrangler and the Three Evils. Roberta was predeceased by her father, Donald Colton Smith (1986). A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.
