Obituary of John Walter Middleton

John (Jack) Walter Middleton of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Jack was born on September 10, 1916 in Lizard Lake, SK. As a young boy, Jack’s family moved to Calgary where he has resided since. Jack served in the R.C.A.F until 1945. After his time in the service, he became the manager and owner of Bon Ton Meat Market, a family operated business. Jack fulfilled a dream by building a cabin in Harvey Heights, AB, of which family and friends have continued to enjoy for over fifty years. Jack and his late wife Helen enjoyed spending many winters in Yuma, Arizona. The most important thing in Jack’s life was his family and friends; he always put others before himself. Jack is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Walter Rogalski, and Dixie and Skip Jeffery, all of Calgary; six grandchildren, Kathie, Paul (Carol), John (Elaine), Sandra (Wally), Deanne, and Tammy; and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Kay; brother Norman; as well as numerous other relatives. Jack was predeceased by his wife Helen; three sisters; and two brothers. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
