Obituary of John Robert Wilgus

John Wilgus beloved husband of Jean of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the age of 64 years. John worked for many years as the International Representative for the BCTGM and also volunteered for the Calgary Police Service. John was a passionate Flames fan and was an avid ten pin bowler. "BIG BAD JOHN”, known for his wicked sense of humour, big heart, and zest for life, touched many lives and he will be remembered by all who knew him. John was the adored husband of Jean, devoted father of Jackie (Frank) Wright, Kevin (Deanna) Mullan, loving Papa of Ariana and Devon Wright, and treasured brother to Julie (Lorne) La Chapelle. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Special thanks to the caring and compassionate doctors, nurses and staff of Unit 37 at the Foothills Medical Centre who treated us like family as well as Dialysis Unit 27. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in John’s name to Unit 37, Foothills Medical Centre.
