Obituary of Patricio Santiago Pat Alda
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Patricio (Pat) Alda on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the age of 71 years. He was the loving husband of Luzvilla (Luz) Jamorol Alda, dedicated father of Anthony Alda fiance to Naomi Rocksborough-Smith, caring grandfather of Brittany Alda, and only brother of Nora Alda Scarabello. Pat is also grieved and missed by many members of his family and friends for he had a nature one could simply not help loving.
Pat was born in the Philippines and came to Calgary with his young family in 1976. He became employed at the Bank of Montreal where he received numerous awards and commendations for his distinctive contributions. He successfully retired from the bank in 1997 after twenty-five years of distinguished service. Always taking pride in helping and learning from others, he went back to ‘active service’ in the security industry and within three years became one of the lead supervisors for security at the Calgary International Airport. Shortly after leaving his position, he continued on to volunteer as a member of the ‘White Hatters’ at the airport where he welcomed visitors to his city. In addition to his helpful and kind nature, he was also a contributing member to his community where he served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mark’s Catholic Church until his ailment.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) this evening, February 25, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
