Obituary of David Chester Taylor

Dave Taylor beloved husband of Esther Taylor of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the age of 81 years; having enjoyed a full and rewarding life. Dave was born in Calgary and moved to Vancouver as a child. He obtained his B.Eng from the University of Manitoba and then obtained his M.Sc from the University of Saskatchewan. He was a life member of both APEGGA and APEGBC. Dave managed several engineering offices throughout western Canada. He was past president of the Calgary North Rotary club. Dave was very involved in the planning and construction of St. Andrew’s United Church in Prince George, BC as well as a family ski cabin at Purden Mountain where he was actively involved in running FIS ski races and often acted as Chief of calculations. He enjoyed sailing with his dog Honey on Shuswap Lake where he spent many happy summers with family and friends. Besides his loving wife of fifty-one years, Dave is survived by four children, Scott and Leslie Millson-Taylor, Ian and Elisabeth Taylor, Catherine Taylor and Stuart Taylor; three grandchildren, Tyler and his wife Cara, Emma and Kai Millson-Taylor; and great-granddaughter Trinity. He is also survived by his brother Bruce Taylor and wife Bonnie; his niece Daphne and four nephews, Stephen, Brian, Doug and Chuck as well as sister-in-law Betty Taylor and her children, Joan and Doug. Dave was predeceased by his brother Hugh Taylor. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
