Obituary of De Rose
Pasqualina De Rose of Calgary passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, after a courageous but short battle with leukemia, at the age of 88 years.
Pasqualina was born on June 29, 1920 in Sartano, Cosenza, Italy. She married Carmine De Rose July 6, 1941 and they immigrated to Canada with their children on April 25, 1960. Pasqualina was a very friendly and hard working woman. Her favourite pastime was to make delicious meals and spending time with her family. She always worried about everybody’s well being and safety. As we say goodbye to you today.
“Remember that when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think that we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart”.
Pasqualina leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law Armando and Tiziana De Rose; daughter and son-in-law Ida and Tony Calabrese; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters of Calgary, Toronto and Sartano. Pasqualina was predeceased by her husband of sixty years Carmine De Rose on November 13, 2001, her parents and her dear sister Eva.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday February 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff of 2 Southview at the Bethany Care Centre, and to Dr. Van Ohm for their care and compassion given to mom and the family.
