Obituary of Elisabetta Lisa Vespa

It is with great sadness we announce that Lisa, loving wife of Domenico of fifty-eight years, peacefully and with dignity ascended to her next plane of existence. Lisa was born on October 1, 1933 in S. Stefano di Sessanio, Italy and spent her youth in Italy and Belgium. She and Domenico were married in Italy in March 1951. She immigrated to Canada in 1959 with Viny and Fonsa. Fausto was born in Calgary. She was a great lady, caring, loving and helped anyone she could, a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Lisa had many passions; gardening, sewing, cooking but her favourite was taking care of her grandchildren. We will miss her and she will always be in our hearts. Besides her loving husband Domenico, Lisa is also survived by her children, Vinicio (Terry), Alfonsina (Vic) and Fausto; grandchildren, Corey, Anthony, Lisa (Joey), Darrick, Amanda, Taralyn (Mike), and Kayla; great grandchildren, Tyler, Saige and Charlie; sister Colorinda of Italy; niece Alfonsina (Nino) of Toronto; cousin Raimondo (Rina) and sister-in-law, Emma Vespa, all of Calgary; nephew Carlo; niece Anna (John); and relatives in Belgium, Liano (Anna), Maria Pia (Phillipo) and Vera. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in the Good Shepherd Cemetery, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
