Joseph Andrenacci

Obituary of Joseph Andrenacci

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Andrenacci of Calgary announce the passing away of a father, brother, uncle and friend on Monday, February 9, 2009 at the age of 65 years. Joseph was born in Fermo, Italy and he immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of four. Throughout his long illness he always remained tied to his Italian heritage, his family and many friends. Joe was a peaceful and generous soul who gave away his belongings to anyone who asked feeling that their need was greater than his. Joseph was well known for his sense of humour and many interesting life observations leading to wonderful conversations during Sunday dinners which brought enjoyment to us all. Joseph is survived by his beloved daughter Katherine Andrews. He was a much loved brother and uncle. He will be deeply missed by his sisters Mary (Laurence) Gray of Ottawa, Audrey (Pasquale) De Dominicis, his nieces and nephews, Lisa (Anthony) Polini, Marco (Patti) De Dominicis, Jennifer (Paul) Jackson, Catherine Gray, Michael (Priscilla) Gray, Phillip (Nicole) Gray. Joseph was also a very special Zio Joe to Zachary, Max (Mo), Eli, Raiden, Malcolm, Quintin, Milo, Nathan, Natasha and Mirabel. Throughout Josephs’ life he enriched the lives of his family and friends. We all developed a sense of compassion and acquired a greater understanding of mental illness from him. Joseph was predeceased by his beloved parents Enrico and Celestina and an older brother, Giuseppe who died as an infant. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow in St. Joseph’s section at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
