Obituary of Margaret Waldie

Margaret Anne Waldie of Calgary, passed away on February 6, 2009 at the age of 77 years. Margie was born October 29, 1931 in Calgary, Alberta. She received her education at Western Canada High School and was Valedictorian of her graduating class. Margie began her working career at a local Television Station, as an announcer, script assistant and often helped produce commercials. She later changed careers, and worked for many years as a secretary with Gulf Oil before her retirement. Margie was also very active within her community, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Drama Club Workshop #14, acting in many productions, and wrote many radio scripts and a play which premiered at the Banff School of Fine Arts. Margie’s greatest passion was drama, and she also adored to be in the company of her sister, nieces, nephews and cats. She was a great supporter of the S.P.C.A and loved to see animals finding caring homes. Margie will be lovingly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Andy Matovich and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Bud Waldie and her brother Bill Waldie. At Margie’s request there will be no services held. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Unit 81 at the Foothills Hospital for their professional and compassionate care of Margie.
