Alfred Peter Cubitt of Calgary passed away at the age of 81 years.
The youngest son of Peter and Jeannie Cubitt, Ted was born in Calgary on September 17, 1927. Ted attended Colonel Walker School in Inglewood, and with his Bros, following the Second World War, worked for forty years in the Calgary Construction industry. On return from Military Service Laurence with Ted began digging residential basements with horses and were one of the last contractors to do so in Calgary. Until retirement they operated Cubitt Bros Plastering and Stucco. Always a keen bird watcher and fisherman, for over seventy years he cherished his competitive racing pigeons. Ted was best known for his outstanding Oil paintings that hang around the world illustrating the mountains and foothills around Calgary. His coveted pigeon portraits were widely known for their attention to detail and accuracy. For over fifty years Cubitt Dahlia Gardens were renowned for quality and refinement. Ted could be described as a Character with strong high principles, a rare individual today.
