Obituary of Douglas PARNHAM

September 26, 1925 – Edmonton, Alberta February 28, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta Douglas Parnham passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at the age of 92, with his four children at his side. Doug was a piano teacher, church organist, and a driving force behind the choral week at Naramata Center. Doug’s love of music was reflected in his work with many church and community choirs, culminating with his founding of the Calgary Boys’ Choir. During his twenty years as conductor, he built the choir to become internationally recognized and enjoyed and maintained his relationships with so many boys and their families. Douglas leaves behind his children, Moira (Wayne), Shelagh (Grant), Doug Jr. (Shannon) and Drew (Lesa); he was a loving gramps to nine grandchildren, Kirsten (Trent), Meredith, Christy (Michael), Mitchell, Jake, Shane, Katie, Anna and Jia-Li; and four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Wesley, Crosby and Abigail. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth. A private family celebration of life will be held at a future date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
