Obituary of Douglas Neil

With sadness we announce the passing of Doug Neil beloved husband of Helen Neil, who passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the age of 61 years. Doug moved to Edmonton in 1979 where he worked for the Alberta Government as a Policy Advisor and later as an Executive Assistant to two cabinet ministers. Doug and Helen moved to Calgary in 1988 where he continued his role in economic development and ended his career as Executive Director for the Alberta Economic Development Authority. Doug was a member of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Authority, and Rotary Club. He served as President of the Canada-Japan Business Assoc. and was an organizer of The Global Business Forum. Doug enjoyed golf, ski-dooing, Regina Beach, travel and remained a fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders forever. Doug is survived by his loving wife Helen; sons Alex and Cody; daughter Ashea; sisters and brothers-in-law Shirley and Marc Mennel, Nancy Neil and Brian McLennan; brother and sister-in-law Bob and Barb Neil. Doug was predeceased by his parents Bert and Barb; brother Gary and sister-in-law Bev.
