Obituary of Karen Pescott
Karen Pescott beloved wife of James Pescott of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at the age of 61 years.
Karen was born on June 9, 1947 in Flin Flon, MB. Within the space of sixty-one years Karen did so much; mother, teacher, daughter, wife, engineering assistant, and friend, in places that included Surrey, Victoria, Prince George, St. Albert, Guelph, London, Waterloo and Calgary. Karen lived for her family and she loved baking in her kitchen. In Karen’s quiet moments she read mystery novels and delighted in the works of Jane Austin and W. O. Mitchell. In 2001 Karen learned she had colon cancer. She battled this for seven years with a positive and cheerful outlook, looking forward to the tomorrows. As she realized the cancer was winning she found these words by W.O. Mitchell in “Who Has Seen the Wind” that brought her perspective and much comfort.
“Out there beyond the horizon, there’s more much more”.
Besides James her loving husband, Karen is survived by her son, James Ashley Pescott of Edmonton, daughter Jodi Lyn Pescott and partner Robert Foster of Calgary; as well as her Mother and Father, Alvina and William Edgar.
