Obituary of Margaret May Peggy O’Bray

Margaret May “Peggy” O’Bray of Calgary, AB passed away on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Peggy was born in Lloydminster, SK on May 14, 1924 to parents Arthur and Lily Holt (nee Harker). In 1942, at the age of 18 years, Peggy joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, where she met and married Lubert O’Bray. Peggy is survived by four children, Bryan O’Bray, Cheryl (Ivan) Bischoff, Kerry (Diane) O’Bray, and Dene O’Bray, all of Calgary; as well as five grandchildren, Troy, Terra, Spencer, Katrina, and Victoria, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Lubert in 1999, grandchildren Shelly Bischoff and Bradley O’Bray, brother Arthur Holt, and sister Ethel Thomas. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., and Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, with son Kerry O’Bray giving the Dedicatory Prayer. At Peggy’s request, no Funeral Service will be held. Peggy’s family wishes to extend special thanks to the Staff on Unit 43 of the Peter Lougheed Medical Centre, and also to Dorothy.
