Obituary of Iris Jessie Marshall

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Iris Jessie Marshall who left this world peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the age 89 years. Iris was born on August 18, 1919 in Portsmouth, England. She immigrated to Canada with Ben on September 13, 1976. For many years she enjoyed performing with the “Good Companions Players” seniors group, playing poker with the “Poker Grannies”, knitting, sewing, and doing arts and crafts. She leaves to mourn her daughter-in-law Rosemary; her granddaughters, Karen (Kevin) and Lisa (Michael); as well as her four great-granddaughters, Ashlie, Rebecca, Allyssa, and Amy; her relatives in England, the United States, and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty-seven years Benjamin and her son Roger. A Celebration of Iris’s Life will be held at the Bethany Village (240 Lincoln Way S.W.) on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Iris’s final resting place will be with her husband Benjamin and next to her son Roger at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
