Obituary of Irene Neustaeter

On January 16, 2009, mom, with her husband and children at her side, passed away after a five year struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy at the age of 65 years at the George Boyack Nursing Home. Mom was born on January 28, 1943 in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. While attending the University of Saskatchewan, mom met dad and they married on July 9, 1966. They moved to Rimbey, Alberta in 1969 where both their children were born. They moved to Calgary in 1978. Mom worked for Holy Name School from October 1983 to her retirement in September 2002. She volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Whitehorn Village Retirement Community. Her favourite hobbies included knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and spending time at their trailer. She’ll be missed by her husband of 42 years, Harold, their daughter Keri-Lynn (Glenn) Auclair, son Blaine (T.R.) Neustaeter, three grandchildren missing her hugs; Mathieu, Nathalie and Quinn. She is also survived by her brothers, Marcel (Mona) Meloche and Raymond ( Linda) Meloche. Mom was predeceased by her father Phillipe in 1959 and her mother Yvonne in 2004. We are forever grateful to the George Boyack Nursing Home, 4 North for their care and friendship for the past two years.
