Obituary of Patricia Lorraine Ward
Patti Ward – kind, beautiful and vivacious – passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the age of 51 years, never losing her bright smile throughout her courageous battle with cancer.
Patti was born in Calgary and graduated from Sir Winston Churchill High School. She became a hair stylist and later obtained her B. Ed. from the University of Calgary. She taught cosmetology at Father Lacombe and Forest Lawn High Schools. She was an inspiration to many of her students. Patti and Jim traveled extensively and lived in Australia, Houston and London. Her wonderful spirit, luminous smile and zest for life was evident to all who knew her.
Patti leaves to mourn her husband and best friend Jim; mother Betty Postlethwaite; sisters, Wendy (Barry) Clark, Deborah Smith, Karen Thomas; brothers, Jim (Kathy) and Kevin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Patti will also be remembered by the many friends she met through her commitment to fitness.
A Celebration of Patti’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
