Obituary of Emma Emilie Berndt

God lovingly took our dear Mom, Oma, and Omama on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the age of 94 years. Emma lived a courageous life, going through difficult times during the war, starting over in Germany and then immigrating to Canada in 1953. Through it all, she remained positive, worked hard, and with a strong faith in Christ, her strength of character persevered, leaving family and friends with many fond and loving memories. Emma was happiest at home cooking, baking and gardening. Missing her sadly are her daughter Erika Janz; her son Erich (Carol) Berndt; her four grandchildren, Kari (Mark), Michelle (Dave), Anthony, and Jordan; and her four great grandchildren, Luke, Nathan, Quinn, and Sophie. Emma was predeceased by her husband Adolf in 1993, two infant daughters, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
