Obituary of Frederick Moriarty

It is with great sadness that Fred’s family announces his passing at the Foothills Hospital on January 12, 2009, at the age of 62 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Darlene, his daughters, Kerrie (Tom), Marcie (Edwin) and Laura (Barry), his grandchildren, Capri, Bowen and Colton, his mother, Catherine, his brothers, Brian (Gwen) and Jim (Jeanine), his sisters, Nora (Norval), Peggy (Bruce), and Morna (David), sister-in-law Patti, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph, and brother, Burke. He exemplified excellence, unrelenting hard work, kindness and strength to all who knew him. Dr. Fred was exceptionally dedicated to medicine, be it his compassionate skilful care to his patients or through his numerous administrative positions. He used his leadership skills as the VP of Medicine for the Holy Cross, Colonel Belcher, and Rockyview Hospitals, the President of the Calgary Medical Society, President of the Alberta Medical Association and was on the board of the Canadian Medical Association as well as participationg in many committees over his past 30 plus years in practice. Most recently, he was extremely involved as the Medical Director of the Primary Care Network (Calgary West Central). He will be ever so missed by all who knew him.
