Obituary of Janet Margaret Fiske

Janet Margaret Fiske, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Our mom was a happy vivacious person who loved life. In her early years she was a Teacher, teaching in one room School houses with her sister Mary. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and children as they moved back and forth across Canada during his years as a RCAF Pilot. She was a lady who liked to spend time visiting family especially her grandchildren. Retiring in Red Deer, she was pleased to have her family close by, and spent her twilight years at Bethany Care in Harvest Hills Calgary. Janet is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marjory and Wayne Silver of Victoria, Cathy and Barry Bleay of Calgary; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Christine Fiske of Gibbons; eight grandchildren, Christa and her husband Ned Easton, Michael Silver, Sabrina Bleay, David Bleay, Claire Bleay, Stuart Bleay, Keir Fiske and his wife Charlotte, and Derek Fiske; five great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Mary (Bunty) Morrison of Red Deer; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Morrison of Calgary as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her husband Alfred of Red Deer. Memorial Services will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapels (4820 – 45 Street, Red Deer, AB) on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
