Maxine Hanson

Obituary of Maxine Hanson

Maxine passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2009. She enjoyed most of her 88 years in robust health and lived her life to the fullest. A kind and generous woman, Max devoted much of her time to volunteering in the Calgary community. A native of Winnipeg, Maxine traveled west to Calgary with her husband Fritz and daughters Trudy and Marilyn. After that they had two more daughters, Paula and Alix. Maxine and her family enjoyed many wonderful and memorable years in Calgary. The Hanson home was always warm and inviting to scores of friends over the years largely because of the welcoming and generous spirit of “Mother Max and Father Fritz”, as they became known to many of her children’s friends. Maxine is survived by her daughters Marilyn (Fritz Hoffman) Paula (Brett Webber) and Alix (Frank Bauce) She was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren of whom she was very proud, Melanie, Megan, Cameron and Peter. Maxine is predeceased by her husband Fritz (1996) and her eldest daughter Trudy (2007). “Four strong winds that blow lonely Seven seas that run high All those things that don’t change come what may If all the good times are all gone, Then I’m bound for movin’ on I’ll look for you if I’m ever back this way.” Lyrics by Neil Young Sleep well Nana. We will love you forever and miss you for always.
