Obituary of Samuel Sam David Sather
Sam Sather of Calgary passed away suddenly at the Foothills Hospital on January 2, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Sam was born on November 9, 1934 in Grande Prairie, AB and spent most of his life farming in the Peace River Country of Wanham and area. Sam then retired to Cochrane in 2004 to be closer to his young grandchildren. Sam will be greatly missed by his three children, Darrel Sather of Calgary, Kim (Gary) Bredeson of Cochrane and Kendall Sather of Grande Prairie; grandchildren, Tryg, Seiver and Talleiv; sister, Ann (Tom) Mickanuk of Rycroft; brothers, Stan (Jessie) Sather of Wanham, Alan (Ramona) Sather of Edmonton, Buddy (Laverne) Sather of Wanham, Jim Sather of Nicaragua and as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Mary Sather and brother, Harold Sather. Memorial Services will be held at Wanham COCO Hall on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at a later date. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
